Our seminar had lasted four days. It has achieved tremendous success. More than 20 professors and scholars spoke at the conference. Many more aired their views freely at group discussions, which proceeded in a friendly and lively atmosphere. We all benefited greatly by attending this conference.

Science and technology are a kind of wealth created in common by mankind. They must in turn serve the needs of all the people and work for the interest of world peace. Any nation or country must learn from the strong points of other nations of countries, from their advanced science and technology. Let's join hands and explore the boundless universe in quest of the never-ending truth of science.

Ladies and Gentlemen, you have my best wishes for your still greater achievements in your career of science.

Good morning/evening/afternoon, ladies and gentlemen :

Today, my speech is about talents,in my opionion, talents are indispensable in nowadays society. as is known to all that the fight among countries is actually the fight among talents.

First, i'd like to define the word"talent" in my idea, a talent is one person who is good at or expertised in some or multiple areas. nowadays, as the world developing goes on , if one country want to rank top or do a good job in the world, the country must have many example, china, the biggest developing country in the world, in the past 100 years, is always invaded by other countries, why ,the reason is that china at that time had not so many talents. if they had anti-intrusion leader talents in the war, needless to say,they would have beat those big they had talents in weapons manufacturing, nodody dares to provoke ver, nowadays, it's a totally different situation, china has become powerfulin all over the world, why ? because there are many talents serving the country, the civilians become more and more and more people go to university,more and more people come to receive further education. so what is that in return,talents in army protect our country from invasi

on, talents in commerce help make our economy keep in improving, talents in aerospace make the world see chinese manned spacecraft flying. talents in sports make china rank the first in the olympic games……

To sum up, talents will play a more and more impoetant role in the world, if one country intends to flourish, he must foster talents as many as they can ,that's all,thank you.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Tiger's speech podium. Preparing a speech is really time-consuming, that’s why many came and asked me one same question- how to prepare a speech in a shortly possible time. I understand your feelings. Now, please follow me, just 3 steps, then you’ll make it happen!

I called the three steps SUP- study, understand and practice. Let’s go with the first step “study”. Being a toastmaster, you study the manual, no matter it’s CC or AC, impromptu or prepared. Because the manual is your instructor, your teacher or even your mentor. It tells you what to do and how to do it. Let’s take CC1-the ice breaker as an example. In 4-6 minutes, you’re suppose to introduce yourself to your fellow club toastmasters and give information about your background, interests and ambitions. Wow, that’s a lot to do. Instead of telling people everything, our new member Sony Zhang made a wise change. Focusing on ambitions, telling personal stories, with a right-matched title Moving forward, People finally remember him as a man of ambitions. Let people remember you would be the best result you and I expected. Study, not be stupid but be wise.

After studying the manual, it’s time to understand the needs and emotions of the audience. Because they are someone you’re going to inform, to inspire, to persuade and to entertain. Without knowing who they are, what they want, your preparation is just a waste of time. Remember, the needs of the audience is so simple- easy to follow and easy to understand. For example, Sam Lee is going to talk about 4G which he knows well but we know little. Instead of focusing more on technology side, Sam used comparison skills, He compared the speed of 2G,3G and 4G by using carriage, motor and auto, so the audience can easily followed him. People followed just because you get to the point and you hit their logics. Besides, making a speech is an emotional journey for both sides- the listener and the speaker. Listening to a speech is somewhat like receiving radio, when the listener and the speaker are in the same channel, they resonate with each other, when they resonate with each other, their emotionas are going with each other.

Congratulations! You’ve finished the first two steps, let’s move on to the last. To put what you studied and understood into practice. Not because practice makes perfect but because quantity breeds quality. Practicing three things. One, repeat and polish your words and sentences to make it simple, short, clear and complete. Remember, small word big power and less is more; Two, pause when it needed. Most of the time, being nervous, you talk so fast like a machine gun, please pause to relax yourself and let people follow. Three, record and replay. Just do it with a smart phone in hand, you can rehearse your speech and review your performance. Remember, one time success is better than ten times failures. When you succeed in making one speech, you’ll be confident in making more speeches ahead.

Ladies and gentlemen, still remember three steps I told you? Study, understand and practice. Yes, yes! Study “what to do and how to do it”; understand “the needs and emotions of your audience”; practice “repeat and rehearse your words ,voice and pose”. Study, understand and practice, it’s a progressive relation and no one less. For doing 3 steps, you are saving time, just follow it, do it and I wish you could make it in a shortly possible time, good luck, everybody!
